Cerca Series: Javier Ramírez Limón

Javier Ramírez Limón is a Tijuana-based photographer who explores a gamut of cultural issues. Cerca Series, at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, brings together two of his independent series to create a third.

Themes dealt with in the images on display include the process of migration and adaptation of Mexican communities in the Southern United States and the joys and celebration involved in Mexican Quinceañera in San Diego County.

Javier Ramírez Limón is known for breaks and alterations in his images and an experimentation with textual application and digital manipulation.
