From Eleanor Antin to Yvonne Venegas, Memory is your image of perfection at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego features work by female artists who, from a feminist perspective, utilise the ambiguity of photography and film to explore individual subjectivity.

Centering on the duplicity and importance of memories in shaping our realities, the exhibit covers a range of styles such as documentary photography. Quite fittingly, the exhibition takes its title from a black-and-white photograph by Barbara Kruger that uses text and image to call attention to the part played by memory in creating each of our realities. Other artists on display include Uta Barth, Andrea Bowers, Suzanne Lacy, Sharon Lockhart and Ana Machado.
